Default How much longer will Lexus make the CT200h?

Until I saw this on the HP, I forgot that buyers overseas got a 2018 model, but I wonder how long it'll be actually stay in production? Personally, I think they're cool, and there are a couple of tastefully modded ones in my neighborhood that look trick...

I agree the 2018 CT looks awesome. Too bad North America doesn't get the current CT. I feel the CT will last another 3 more years till 2020, after that who knows if Lexus will bring a 2CT. I hope Lexus does. I like the CT and Lexus can always improve the 2CT by adding variants, increase length by an inch and increase width by an inch, put cup holders in the back seat, refine the CT further, add more luxury, etc...

Murica loves big cars and sales have been a reflection of that.

My guess is that it would compete directly with the UX and because it’s not a CUV it would get pretty much anihilated.

Sales went down almost 1,000 units year after year in the last few years. They sold so few (like 7k per year last I heard if I remember correctly) that they saw no point in keeping it here. They will replace it with the UX cuz people in NA will buy that for sure.

Most folks in America want SUVs. The love affair with SUVs continues. As long as gas is cheap, folks will go for SUVs.

Also hatch backs are just NOT "in" IN AMERICA. Very popular overseas though where gas is MUCH more expensive. Plus in most Asian countries, there is a heavy tariff/tax placed on big displacement engines.

A friend of mine overseas has a ten year old MB ML55 AMG in good running condition. He bought a new MB S350 recently. He COULD NOT GIVE AWAY the big 5.5 liter MB ML55 AMG!!! Nobody wants to pay the heavy tariff/tax on it (AND IT IS EACH AND EVERY YEAR). In Singapore (he is not in Singapore), vehicles over ten years old will NOT be allowed to be registered AT ANY PRICE!! In 2018 NO PRIVATE VEHICLES ARE ALLOWED AT ALL DUE TO TOO MANY VEHICLES!!!

I'm so happy I'm in AMERICA!!!
