What's the most fuel you have put in?
I would like to find out how much fuel is left when the CT200h says it is out of fuel. This weekend I drove 84 km (52 miles) after the car said 0 km. I must admit that I was a little nervous towards the end.
I filled it with 43.1 liters (11.4 gallons) and that was filled to the brim.

I visited my fuelly page and searched for all fill ups that resulted in over 11 gallons. I got 26 total (out of a currently 1,028 total fill ups). Of those 26 was my record, 11.813 gallons. (This fuelly log is #462 for reference if anyone wants to go look it up.)
When I average 50 MPG, I usually get the low fuel light about 100-150 miles before I run out. Range usually hits 0 somewhere around there, where I can still go over 100 miles before running out.
I did run out of gas once. I drove 571 miles (this includes roughly 1 mile on EV mode after running out). When I filled up, it was just 11.702 gallons, which was strange since I did fill up to 11.8~ before as mentioned at the top of my post. (This fuelly log is #502.)
While the 11.8 was my record fill up, the 11.7 where I ran out is right after it as my second best.
I would say that no one should really be trying to max out their 11.9 gallon tank on a long trip, because the car seems to shut down just before that, as evidenced by my experience.

I did the top-off thing for a week as a test, I don't remember what happened honestly, it was back when the car was new and I was testing range. Otherwise, I always wait for a click as well.

Its 11.7 (11.8 maybe if you consider the neck fill)
When I get 50mpg (actual mpg so the dash is saying 52-53mpg) I can fill up at 450miles on the odo and only put in 9.7 gallons. That gives me almost 2 gallons left at 50mpg per gallon.

I saw a video on youtube where someone in a 4G prius wanted to see how far he could go when the tank ran down to 0 remaining range miles. he went about 71 miles, and an extra 1.4 miles on a full traction battery alone. apparently the tank has about 1 or so gallons in reserve. Possibly 1.5. since our cars dont get as high mpg as a 4g prius, i'd say 50 miles or so would be our true remaining range when on "empty." i wish there was a recalibration to let more tech minded people decide for themselves when to fuel up. i don't like the idea of a buffer tricking you into showing you you are empty when you have a whole gallon to play with. a whole gallon is a lot for these cars!

My consistent fill happens around 8.5 gallons when cruising range is less than 10 miles. A couple years ago I was curious how far i could go and thought it was ~12 gal tank. So I took a gallon gas can along for a ride after I hit 0 miles left (so depleted 8.5 gal, 3.5 reserve?) . At 35 miles/gal I should get 120 miles, well, I went 75 miles (distance of my commute) and thought that was good enough, when I filled up I was at 11.4 gal (so obviously less fuel economy than I would have guessed). I know running low can lead to early fuel pump failure (or so says Click and Clack), so I don't push the envelope, but feel comfortable for a bit if I get too low and can't find a station.
