2015 Lexus CT 200 vs 2015 Audi A3 1.8T?
Doing some research and found myself stuck between a Lexus CT and the Audi A3. I know they are different, yet when looking at used, they are priced similarly. Sometimes the CT will be a 2014, however.
I do a little around town driving mixed in which long rides here and there. I currently have the Prius C which I despise. It's horribly uncomfortable, I have had battery problems from the beginning, it's mileage isn't anywhere near what it should be, it has zero power, and it's boring to drive. I want something nice, comfortable (I've been in a CT and loved it. Had an RX and loved it, too), reliable, safe and gets relatively good mileage. Because I don't drive so much, I am hesitant to get a hybrid.
Which do you think is the better option?

All comes down to what you want. A great milage commuter or a fun car. I purchased my car because it I drive a lot. 105 miles at least a day. The CT is fun, handles well and has a little pep..for a hybrid.
The Audi...Audi is meant to be driven (pushed). The 2.0T is a great motor although they are prone to carbon build up. Get an APR tune, go stage 2 (for under $1k) and you have yourself a quick and inexpensive ride. You WILL pay more for maintenance unless you do it yourself. I had an A4 2.0T and it was a blast to drive. You'll end up getting a little less than half the gas milage though. Another plus is the AWD. If you go with an Audi, do NOT go cvt. Go AWD!
edit: Not too familiar with the 1.8t,ight as well go for an A4!

Thank you both! Yes, they are very different cars, but I know them. And they are always grouped together as entry-level luxury cars in all the mags.
I've almost ruled out the Audi. It would be blast to drive where I live...but like the reliability of a Toyoat/Lexus and that it is a hybrid is pulling me over. Also it's very safe and has great gas mileage!
As for fun driving, well, I have a Prius C and anything is more fun that that uncomfortable slug with terrible MPG and cheap everything. Plus, I just had the battery replaced.
My concern with the CT is that I drive very little most of the time. About every month or two I'll drive for five hours, but for the most part it is 5-10 minutes here and there. The battery on my C was just replaced. They said I didn't drive it enough. It's got about 6500 miles and its a 2014. I considered the Corolla because boy is it peppy and a battery wouldn't die out on me. But I really want something nice. I test drove the CT back in 2014 and loved it.
What to do??

I bought a 2012 Prius C for work a few years ago. Drove it 143k miles in 1.5 years. Great mileage (about 60 MPG avg for my trips) but just really loud and uncomfortable for long highway runs in Texas. I replaced it with a 2014 CT F Sport and I am far happier now. 330k miles later, I get 50 MPG avg and the noise is down while refinement and ride and way up.
If you barely drive your car, I don't see fuel economy or reliability being much of an issue. Sounds like you should go with your preference, or look at a plug-in hybrid so you can run on pure electricity for those short commutes.
