Oh thats nice. They seem to be dead cheap price wise. Anyone has experience with Alibaba.? May be it comes with no charge and we have to boost the charge.?

Regarding my car, it doing good without any DTC. Some times the battery icon spikes and comes back to normal. I will look about balance charging. Thanks for the info and link.

wrote a small excel spreadsheet comparing cell average to the pack average.

highlights potential cells that might be causing issues.

takes the guess work out of looking at numbers.

Default mini vci arrived

monitored and tested the batteries while charging by ICE
looked fairly balanced.

but under load issues with modules 4 to 9

will be taking these out to rebalance/refresh/cycle with a hobby charger.

could see while running Techstream the uneven discharge from affected cells.

many videos on YouTube on how to cycle nimh batteries.

got my replacement cells from Ebay just checking them out. looks good.

Alibaba is China's version of Ebay and the largest E-commerce company in the world....larger than Ebay and Amazon combined. I've heard good things about them, though I've not yet dealt with them. They are HUGE.

Default 1 cycle of charging and discharging

comparison before and after balancing. temperature reduced due to cleaning fan too.

cleaned out cooling fan and temperatures dropped across 3 temp sensors.

Hello Friends,

Finally I got the Mini VCI cable yesterday from Aliexpress after a long wait of two months. I checked and saved the report as PDF which I have attached with this thread. I will also post some snapshots taken. Please advise me what to do from now on.?
Do I have to drive the car for few miles with the techstream on and monitor the battery module voltage change.? Sorry for noob questions.

Please do review the reports and advise me on how many modules to change. I will order it asap.

kt2012, awesome find and good job on figuring it out & changing the battery modules. You posted the voltages while on load. You just put it to D mode and give some accel to see the voltage changes.? Also could you please provide me the eBay link where you ordered the modules from.? You and me on the same boat. I want to fix this badly.

The below snaps are taken when the car is in Parked mode. I also got C1241 message too.

You have to discharge the battery to see which modules blocks run out of energy first, as kt2012 did.

And after that one must determine which module of a block is bad (or even both?).

Thanks. I will do a drive and record the readings to see which ones are dripping low.

As suggested I took the readings while on load (while driving). Please review the attachments and let me know how to take it from here. Also I am going to order around 6 modules via eBay.

i could not find any video on how to remove the whole battery pack. only managed to strip the cover off to expose cells for individual cycling. there is one last bolt on the right side i cant access. if i can undo that bolt might be able to remove the whole nimh pack to swap out problem cells.

however given the time consuming process only managed to cycle it once. which is likely not enough. read cycling nimh required at least 2 to 3 times or more.

so my problem is recurring. the one cycle refresh only lasts about a week.

might be faster with a 4 port hobby charger from hobbyking or anyother brands. there are many sellers for prius on ebay just look for those that can ship to your country and ship via USPS.

sheiksoft your lowest modules seems to be 8 and 9. like Nacke mention might be either one or both cells in the modules got to strip the cover and test each module. a time consuming process. you will need some cover to work away from rain and dust and lights if going to work at it in the night. try to be careful with the tiny screws for the cover. thought i lost one under the passenger seats. luckily was stopped by some cables and i could pick up with my screwdriver with a magnetic tip.

need
8mm
10mm
12mm
sockets and a ratchet to make things easier.
remember to remove the orange safety switch before opening up the battery otherwise is 200volts.
