Why can't I play music from Android phone?

Why can't I play music from Android phone?
I've tried plugging it into the USB port and switching my phone to storage device but nothing happens. Help! I hate the radio. Ha ha

^^^ funny post. but.... will prob confuse the op/send him or her around in circles
to be honest ive never tried the usb route ... easiest way = use an aux cable. the way i go about it = bluetooth.
dont like the above suggestions? search it (i actually attempted to quick search, but the broad results turns me off from posting up. sorry i couldnt be more helpful .... MONDAYS for ya)
