Hello everyone ) last summer i moved from Miami to Pittsburgh, i never drove in the snow in my life, so im not sure what tires should i use. On my CT right now tires P215/45R17 87V M+S michelin primacy mxm4. As i understood right m+s means mud plus snow? so how are u guys driving in snow, how is car behave and do u use B gear for better traction?

Most front wheel drive cars will get you home from work in a storm with all season tires. In an urban setting with the amount of snow removal equipment around we have never needed dedicated snows. On our rear wheel drive cars -- forget it ... snows are a must.

Now -- if you are regularly going to go into snow country or on roads that are not plowed ....it's wise to get snow tires. For the cost of one mishap you can get tires/ rims from tire rack. If I'm going out to my weekend place in the country and snow is in the forecast ... I take the SUV

yeah, its gonna be just work home,i aint driving nowhere when its snowing) its just so much stress. We about to get hit with Hera, i think, so we will see) its is gonna be survivor series for me )))

i would also add that not all ...."all season" tires are the same. The softer more aggressive tread patterns work better .... but they provide the least amount of "feel' on dry pavement and also would be counter productive on a car like the CT that's all about MPG.

This is true. For example, the Michelin MXV4 gets a "good" rating in snow, while the MXM4 only gets an "average" .
