Still good to buy a used CT200h?
Hi
I was planning to buy a used (2014~2017) ct200h, it's mostly for driving around the town and we like its small size as our garage cannot hold two big cars (we already have a full size suv). We want to buy it used because we won't drive it a lot (less than 1500 miles a year) and it's a bit expensive to buy a new car and only driving 1000 miles a year on it.
However, I just learnt that ct200h is going to be discontinued, what does this mean if I buy a ct200h now? Will I have some maintenance/resale problem in the future? I know lexus is very reliable and I shouldn't worry about this, but given that I might keep it for more than 5 years, I'm worrying I will have some trouble in the future buying a discontinued model.
Thanks!

Keep in mind that the CT uses the same drivetrain as the Prius. My guess is that if any of those parts fail, it would not be too expensive to replace. The only thing I'd worry about is if you get into an accident, sourcing body panels will be difficult.

Keep in mind that while the CT is being discontinued, that's only in the US from what we know so far. It will still be made and sold in other markets.

Also, the CT is based off of the Japanese (known in the US as Corolla IM) Auris Hatchback. I'm not sure which, if any, of the body parts are interchangeable though.

I'm actually thinking of buying CT200 used as well. Was reading some opinions, but I'm not sure of that. It's hard choice to be honest and I don't have that much money on me, like my friend for example who scored himself this one:

He keeps bragging to me about it all the time I got a bit annoyed already lol.

For goodness sake, I have a 23 year old Toyota previa. I don't have any worries about parts or making repairs. Why? It's a Toyota. I recently had a u joint failure on it. Worn out after 200000 miles and 23 years of rust. eBay one for $275 delivered. Installed in 30 minutes. When the part was available from the dealership it was $1100 in 2001. 16 years later it's even cheaper and better than the factory part.
Total miles between my 3 Toyota driveway is 500000. Total age is 42. So I'd say no need to worry.
