Anyone have installed the aftermarket stereo replacement before? I found one here

https://www.dvdgpsnav.com/lexus-ct20...head-unit.html

looks like a direct fit, and supports steering wheel control.

I am considering taking the plunge and buy the unit that is advertised as a one for one replacement. The thing is that I had looked at other units and because those are not specifically designed for the ct200h the installation is cumbersome and expensive. I got 3 quotes and they all vary but the common denominator was time..They all suggested that it would take between 7 to 8 hours to install since it was a custom installation. I had them re-quote based on the unit from the DVDGPSNAV company and installation went down significantly.

So from a pure financial perspective the cost comparison has gone form about $1800 to $2000(including backup camera and a Pioneer unit) to about $700 including the back up camera.

What do you guys think? Would it be worth it?

This kind of stuff is never worth it IMO. If you want audio, just do an aftermarket amp and speakers like I did, and a sub. call it a day.

if you want a backup camera, just get a backup camera. but i wouldn't be spending 700-2000 on a chinese designed, chinese made (poorly chinse made) android stereo with 1997 graphics. That's a very foolish way to spend money. then you still have crap speakers.

Default I have this installed

Install was not hard. The ROM is a 4.5/5, but I am very happy with it. I went the extra mile and installed the rear camera which replaces one of the license plate lights. I expected this part to be difficult, but with diagrams, I was able to dismantle the hatch area without issues and put it back together. The fit is perfect and looks factory.
One thing about these head units is that you have to realize that the android and the "radio" are distinct from the other. Meaning if you got Bluetooth stream to unit and you switch unit to aux video, the music will stop. Also, many play store apps work but may not work 100% because these android build a are not officially recognized by play store. I have it running on android auto natively and pretty happy.
If you buy these from aliexpress here are some tips:
Dont expect tech support
Install or test it out right away because the money back guarelantee is only 2 weeks and they don't give a f after that.
Reinstall the telematics unit that is on top of the factory radio or else you will not have sound from right front speaker. Used string method to pull weather strip when reinstalling the cover over the license plate light if you decide to get the camera that replaces the light, but use a very thin cord or otherwise you will damage the strip.

Mount the GPS antennae under the center speaker hole cover. There is a perfect little tab under there. You can route the wire under the dash by removing the cover for the cabin air filter to help fish the wire.
The RR and LR speakers are switched on their harness. Just need to remove the pins and switch them around. The expansion SD slot is flimsy.
