Default Mud flaps ... splash guard ???

I am curious why there are no interest at all in installing mud flaps/splash guards??? CT being a FWD it will kick up debris and mud/snow by the front fender area. I read only one old thread where someone installed a Prius mud flap/splash guard on the CT. I came upon two styles: one Toyota USA oem and other one called Euro version for Prius model. Interested to hear more thoughts on this.

If you find them, then please share.

In 2002, I had modified Impreza mud guards to fit a WRX.

In 2006, I had made my own flat guards for a EVO IX.

This time around, I might do the same as I did for the EVO.

Haven't gotten around to getting all the materials for the CT, but I can at least put up some preliminary info from what I've done in the past.

For my dearly departed EVO, this is what I got:

Mud Guards — 1005700 Highland

I used cardboard to make mock-ups first before cutting the plastic ones. I used a MAPP gas torch and some 2x4's to put bends in them when needed.

I also tried to use any OEM screw hole/fastener that was already there.

But, from what I remember, I needed a few of these (Nissan Mud Flap fastener - I had a few extra from when I used to have a Maxima):

Here is how it looked on my EVO:

I actually looked at the CT this weekend just to scope out how many fasteners already exist (didn't want to drill any holes if possible). The front seem to have enough screws connecting the bumper cover and the fender liners. The back may or may not have enough stock holes, so I may have to forget about the back, or drill extra holes.

My buddy has a C6 Corvette. I remember him telling me that he purchased "custom" mud guards from some Vette forum member. They were made the same way, cut from some flat plastic material, so it's certainly not a new idea.

Not yet. I'm looking at getting the material in bulk, rather than the pre-cut truck ones.

Thanks for this useful posting. After driving my CT200h for over two years, 40k miles I am in the process of getting myself a set. My only concern is whether this will introduce unnecessary drag and lower the MPG. The car been very low, it kicks up a lot of debris, specially in the tail end.I was wondering if the rear mud flap will alleviate this.

no problem guy. I got the mud guards less than 12 business days. That's pretty quick shipping coming from China.

Have any of you guys done the rear inner tail lights mod?????
