If CT200H gives me a sportier feeling and reasonable MPG, I'd like to buy it, my ES is too big.

when i went to get my wife's new rx, they were REALLY pushing the HS on me offering any deal i wanted...the thing is just f'n ugly for its price. real disappointment imo.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only retired, ES owner thinking of the CT. I'm beginning to think my ES is too big for her to drive, she has been doing the driving since I broke my foot and she kinda scares me sometimes, but I keep my mouth shut. She does much better with her SC.

Is that the flash reflection on the dash or does the emblem light up?

I would like to buy the CT200 . But I think this car will be way to slow and boring to drive for that money. FWD and a speedometer that goes to 220 km/h ( 137,5 mph ) means that this car probably will get to 110-115 mph at full throttle , and accelerate from 0-62 mph ( 100km/h) in about 10-12 seconds.

Thats way to slow for many European highways. This is way to slow for a "sporty" premium car to. There is Audi,MB and BMW diesels with ( probably) the same mpg that has both good performance and RWD/AWD.

There is really no reason at all ( in my opinion ) buying this Lexus if you compare it with the Prius.

Possibly but Europe sells many more slower vehicles that people buy with worse MPG. Some are slower than the Prius and arguably get better MPG.

I worry Europe is still so concerned about badge, this won't sell b/c its a "Lexus" and not a BMW/Benz/Audi.

This won't be an autobahn burner.

Yes, but Lexus is premium vehicle, not a "Skoda" for 7 000 dollars This CT 200 will have a tough time with already existing BMW and Audis, not to mention the future ones. Anyway, Prius is actually the huge problem because of its considerably lower price, not BMW or Audi ! But I do really hope I am wrong and that the CT 200 will be a hit.

Are Europeans opening up to Hybrids or feel its still a gimmick? I see Toyota is building and selling the new Auris hybrid there.

Something to consider is that the styling of the Prius is a bit polarizing on both sides of the Atlantic. Most folks over there and some folks (myself included) prefer hatches over the cheese wedge
