what bothers me is that the vents and the air con controls dont align with the lower dash. iono my OCD talking.

^^ Didn't even notice that
It might be because the center stack is tilted slightly to the driver while the vents are smack dab in the middle? That said I might just be seeing things in relation to the slant

no, the vents are pushed to the right because of the START/STOP button i think

I noticed that too
The previous Corolla had the same issue with the audio controls and vents not lining up with the rest of the dash below.

Yeah it was mostly wishful thinking on my part
I still like the interior but my OCD is bothered by it.

shoulda moved the button down next to the controls instead of pushing the vents over.

Ya, exact same feeling I had... the exterior manages to be surprisingly Lexus to me, while the interior is very much Lexus.
