How's it going everyone...purchased a 2014 Ultrasonic Blue CT F-Sport two weeks ago and can't wait to work on it! Certainly got better gas mileage than my old car (which is for sale lol)

Already swapped the interior bulbs to LED and debadged the rear. Plan on lowering her (either F-sport springs or maybe coilovers), JL 8" w3 in the trunk, HID headlights and fog lights (with yellow film on fogs), aimgain rear bumper and ISF exhaust, and injen short ram air intake. Definitely excited to see what else is out there!!!!!

Is this Edison NJ? I'll be up in that area on weekend of April 15. We can get together for coffee and I can show you what I did with my stereo before you start modding that. It's small system but big sound.

It's all Kenwood excelon, then JL 10tw1 and 77 square feet of Sound Skins.

We can do a meet, if someone wants to put it together.

Welcome Bagdnum! Your CT look great and I can't wait to see the mods!

If it is at all possible, would you be able to make a detailed tutorial about your JL 8" woofer installation? I just have the basic 6 speaker stock sound system in my CT and I have been wanting to put a sub in for years however I have never done it before in any car I have owned. I will have no problem building the box and physically installing the components however the wiring is the part I need the most help with, especially tying it into the stock radio unit and installing a sub volume knob. I feel like we are lucky that the 12 volt battery is in the trunk because it means less wiring for powering the unit!

Thanks!

I want to do the same also. I don't really care about changing the head unit as it seems complicated and I don't want to spend too much. But I wouldn't mind putting an amp and a sub in the back of my CT. The other speakers are fine also IMO.

congrats on your ct Bagdnum! going from a bagged car to a static car would be heartbreaking to me lol. i dont think you would be satisfied with the fsport springs as they only lower a little (unless thats what you were going for).

@Miamiboy87 . If you purchased the sound system with the stock subwoofer, then it will be in the back left of the trunk space. from there you can remove it and use the input wires and splice in a line in receiver and shoot it to an amp. with this way you wouldnt have to change your head unit. ive seen custom boxes that recreate the panel where the stock sub was and allow an 8" sub.

I was actually thinking you would do that since I offered to meet lol.

You'll get to see what I personally installed in my car. From Kenwood double din, to custom enclosure under the floor, to full security remote start system to stealth power inverter instal

I think my car doesn't have the premium sound system. You mean just use the speaker thats back there and hook it up to the amp? I haven't gotten a chance to look back there.

I haven't done it yet, just one of the mods I'm planning on doing...but once I do it I'll be more than glad to help out!

I know I'm torn but I can't bag this lol the misses would kill me...I've seen with the f-sport springs it really makes no difference...I'm wondering if there's been any luck with other lowering spring (like eibach or tein) not sure if I want to do coils because then I'm going to slam it lmao

squid808 Apr 11, 2017 04:56 PM

@Miamiboy87 Yeah the speaker in the back left corner of your car is a stock subwoofer (i think its a 6"). You just pull the panel off and disconnect the subwoofer and reroute those wires into a line in receiver then into your amp.

@Bagdnum Lol yeah dude those f-sport springs are like 1/4" - 1/2" drop i think. Even with coilovers the car doesnt really get that low. The CT is a monster truck lol. Im running megan coilovers at full drop in the rear and i still want it to go lower. The car does scrape if i rambo it over stuff but for the most part its the mud guards that scrape.

The F sport is supposed to drop the front 1" and the back .95" .. I'd do coilovers but there too expensive for me $800+ compared to some springs around $200. I think my next project is buying a subwoofer and mounting it where the stock one is. Theres a thread in ct200hforums that has a DIY.. I think i'll get an 8" and make it fit. I already have an amp i've had for years, barley used so it should be a good cheap mod, just will take time..which I got to find due to kids and wifey :D ..My wife won't even let me change the emblems
