Default [2011]The "Past Record" screen has never changed

This screen:
.

Record screen

It's never changed, never moved, nothing. Been driving for a year and that screen, no matter when I look at it, looks just like that.

What's it supposed to do and how do I make it do it?

At the little display on the dashboard, keep changing it until you see the AVG MPG display. Now hold the button and it will reset. The Past Record only updates when you reset the AVG MPG.

Well look at that.. a year later and it does something.

So the bars, they are just the average each time you reset the counter? So if I wanted to track what I was getting when commuting I would need to reset it every morning and then a new bar will appear?

If that's what you want to do with it, then yes. I only used it when I first got the car back in 2012. I was testing out the different option of Eco, Normal, and Sport modes. I would drive a week in each mode and reset the AVG MPG so I can see what the are the differences. I finally ended up with driving in Sport mode full time.. and have not reset it since.
