How strong is that grill? Doesn't look like it can withstand a slight bump, but maybe it's stronget than it looks. Urban parking folks are always backing into the front bumper in tight spots. I got the BumpShox for my CT last year for extra protection.
what the hell man...that looks so much better! and the black gloss roof too! i just got my ct a month and a half ago...
anyways
to answer your question, not that strong. a family member of mine is a lexus mechanic. he told me that new fsport front grille is going to cause problems because there's absolutely nothing you can do to protect it from chips etc. he said it'll likely look like crap once it has been on the road for 2-3 years (unless you do mostly city driving). and that grille itself costs ~$1000 (cdn) to replace since someone just brought back the 2014 is f sport to the dealership to replace it after an accident.
IMHO, looks ugly. That grill only works for the new es and is because if you follow your eyes see the grill first then it trails up to the top and goes back down due to back window and trunk, it doesn't work the same way for our cars because once our eyesight goes up it just goes flat it doesn't follow back down. Which again IMHO makes the front really ugly. I do like the subtle aggress rear though.
I think the car looks sharp, but I don't like that new grill at all, even on the new IS's. It takes away from the front of the car, in my opinion. It looks like Lexus is going with that one for all of the new models, though.
