Does the ct200h offer HID/Xenon headlamps?

ok, so i've checked on the lexus website and called a couple dealers. can't seem to find this option offered on this model.

also, if HIDs are available, what trim would i need to get? looking to get the following options:

- fsport trim
- NAV
- premium sound

thanks everyone.

 I was quite disappointed to realize that ct200H does not have HID in any of trim versions, other than low beam LED if ordered from factory. So this is the only model from Lexus that doe not have HID lamps? Lexus has in the past distinguished itself to be one of the first to offer the superb HID's ... indeed I am quite disappointed ... so now I have to get aftermarkets stuff.

well, i called a couple dealers and yeah, not offered. i find this quite odd. i mean, even priuses come w/ the HID option.

That is really surprising that the CT doesn't have HID's. It seems strange for such a new car.

They offer next generation LED headlamps instead.

Actually.... One of our employees just bought one and it has HIDs. It was just a normal NAV car off the lot.

If I am not mistaken, I do not believe that the CT200h for model year 2012 at least in the USA, the HID is NOT an OEM offered option in any trim level. Also someone else misquoted that Prius comes with HID which is NOT true in the US. Your only choice left is to purchase aftermarket 35W ballast/bulb kit. If you go to Toyota Nation, a lots of Prius owners have done successfully. Japanese auto electronics is devoid of CAN BUS like the bmw/mb; i.e. you won't trigger any errors and the lights will not flicker, so you don't have to install resistor to "trick" it.

The oem low/high beam headlights assembly got the projector lens, and once you convert to HID with a ballast kit, the "squirrel spotter" effect is minimal, which is quite a pleasant surprise. The projector lens assembly with halogen bulb is often confused with HID Xenon bulbs.

The low/high beam LED is an option that must be ordered from the factory, it is NOT a dealer installed upgrade. It is strange that HID is not offered, since it is a lower consumption compared to halogen. I have a strong feeling that Lexus intention is to offer HID's at next model upgrade release.

There is a lots of confusion between the DRL LED which is a standard oem on all 2012 model in the US; but HID is not available in any trim. (HID= high intensity discharge lights using Xenon bulbs which will require its own ballasts; and LED= light emitting diodes, a very low consumption device with no bulb, the headlight assembly is completely different.)

LED lumens output is significant lower than HID Xenon bulbs; but LED is the next generation gizmo with extremely low consumption device.

The is not a factory HID option for the CT200h

Actually, that is not possible! Either you have the standard Halogen low beam or you have LED upgraded low beam headlights. There is not factory HID option for the low beams. All CT200h high beams are halogen.
