Default Vehicle proximity notification system

GENERAL
1. OUTLINE

(a) When the vehicle is being driven quietly using the motor only, the vehicle proximity notification system outputs a warning sound from the vehicle approaching speaker assembly to inform pedestrians, cyclists etc., of the approach of the vehicle.

(b) The warning sound is output by the vehicle approaching speaker assembly at a volume level that will not be perceived as noise. Also the pitch of the sound changes in accordance with the vehicle speed so that the sound reflects vehicle deceleration and acceleration.

(c) Vehicle proximity notification system operation automatically stops when the vehicle is stopped, the engine starts or the vehicle is driven at 25 km/h (15 mph) or more.

2. MAJOR DIFFERENCE

(a) The 2012 models have been modified from the 2011 models as shown below:

(1) The vehicle proximity notification system has been adopted on models for destinations other than Mexico and South Korea.

And if you want to remove it and enable "ninja mode"

The speaker is located on the driver's side front of the vehicle, connector is behind the driver's side headlamp assembly.

You can remove it easily by unbolting and peeling back the driver's front wheel liner.

Very nice. I'd love to remove it on my 450h. Could you please explain in more details how can I get to it? How does one peel back the driver's front wheel liner and where is it located?
