I use to own a HS and that car was pretty cool. I didn't quite enjoy it as much as the CT due to the driving experience. The car itself is very luxurious and roomy with all sort of gizmo to keep you entertained, but when it comes down to the driving portion i think the CT blows it out the water. I guess it really depends on what you are trying to accomplish. If you want a car that is fun to drive and can compromised on the size then CT, if you want something that is luxury and comfy the HS.

 

CT Hands down looks cooler. I think the HS is the only Lexus to flop

I couldn't possibly own an HS. It has to be one of the top 10 most boringly styled vehicles in the history of automotive design. No amount of comfort or interior luxury can overcome the mundane exterior. With all that said what I feel a person with young children should be in the market for would be a lightly used RX. I have 2 kids now 17 and 19, and lets just say at the teen-age years you mention the absolute LAST thing they will want to be doing is cruising anywhere with you and mom even if you happen to own a Bentley by then:-) At their current ages, though you'll need a heck of a lot more space than the CT or even the HS provides (I treat my CT as a 2 seater because there's really no room in the back seats). Truth be told though at 6' 220 I have no problem fitting in the CT as a driver though the seat backs could be a bit wider.

 

Wow this is something new, I didn't know the HS costs MORE!

We bought our CT and admit the rear seat lacked some space but we have a pair of SUV's already so this CT purchase was mainly for my wife's commuter so that make it an easy choice.

But no fold down seats in any car is a real PITA for us plus the HS is so ugly (sorry guys) looks liked a pimped out Prius to me. Anyone who says the HS styling is good must be smoking some good stuff!
