They focused too much on the lack of speed and not enough on the handling imho, and I think this is the 1st mainstream Lexus(LFA not included) to have NO wood in its interior:

The Lexus IS300 never had wood in the interior. Also I do believe wood trim is optional on the CT, if I'm not mistaken.

 

The IS 300 actually did have wood switchplates available later on. I agree that most IS 300s have no wood.

Odd review, hardly any talk of MPG. Car looks good in those pics.

 

Drove one last week. Coming from my IS-F, I was pleased with the handling. The get up and go is not overwhelming, but not underwhelming either. The fit and finish is excellent. The interior was roomier than I thought. My only question was an annoying high pitched whine that translated into the cabin. I'd never heard it on a Prius, so I don't know if it is an issue with this model or just this car. I'll wait until the dealer has another to compare. All things considered though, I'll probably be selling my IS-F and switching to the CT

 

Check out this link from the Detroit News, not friendly territory for anything foreign, but the review is right on. 4 out of 4 stars in fact!!
