Every year, Bulletproof Automotive as a company is fortunate enough to attend Tokyo Auto Salon in Japan. Tokyo Auto Salon is the ultimate Mecca of JDM tuning parts and cars. Every year the top tuners in Japan gather to unveil and show off all of their new parts for the year.

After each Auto Salon, we compile all of the photos and media that we've collected during our trip and we post up everything we have to share with all of you.

During our last trip, we were able to get some raw photos of the Varis Magnum Opus aero kit on their RC-F demo car.

The TE37's on this RCF is actually a new edition TE37 Wheel. It's called the TE37 Ultra Track Edition. The new color is Diamond Dark Gunmetal. Although this wheel has a traditional Volk TE37 Design, it's a little different than previous models. It's still a one piece forged monoblock wheel so it's super strong and lightweight. Volk recently started laser engraving their logo as well as a ring around the outer lip. These TE37's also offer a machined inner spoke to help reduce weight and also make it look incredible.

Questions in regards to suspension kits available from either NOVEL or Harmonic Drive. Does it interfere with existing TEMS/AVS Suspension system which is OEM suspension should be variable rate damping already? Would this be an issue when equip with aftermarket coilover suspension? Deletion on the system would that interfere with driving dynamics with the car itself?
better off with stiffer lowering spring instead?

Hi Koukir32, thanks for the inquiry.

To answer your question at a high-level, all aftermarket suspension parts have been developed and rigorously tested by each manufacturer. All of the manufacturers that we represent would be considered to be at a premium level. These companies have taken into consideration the factory suspension components and settings. By adding aftermarket components to replace the factory ones, you shouldn't experience any type of harm or interference with the driving dynamic by adding an aftermarket suspension system. In fact, by adding aftermarket dampers, you will experience a slight bump up in performance over the factory components.

This is all with the idea that you're looking for performance in mind. If you're a racer or track guy, the ability to manually adjust the dampening force comes in handy as you can fine tune the suspension as you see fit. Another benefit to going with an aftermarket suspension setup from a brand like Novel or Varis is that you get the ability to adjust the height as you see fit. From a somewhat standard height to a very low and aggressive height. This will benefit both track guys, show guys, and anybody looking to improve the overall stance and look of the car. You'll also experience some nice handling improvements as you lower the center of gravity.

If you're using your car for daily driving and comfort is at the top of your priority list, aftermarket dampers are probably not the option for you. You'll be better off using the factory suspension and like you said, adding a nice set of aftermarket lower springs. With the factory RCF suspension, you have a nice electronically controlled dampers with adaptive suspension capabilities. You'll get a better ride quality that will be much more comfortable and the settings will allow you to not have to think about things as the car does most of the thinking for you.
