In addition to clarifying whether or not these are MY2011 or MY2012, can you tell us if there is indeed a difference in the color of the LED DRLs?

Mr. Darrell,

I also would like to know if I can get the newer updated one to replace my recently purchased MY2011 LED HEADLIGHTS? Purchased back in 12/23/2011. The driver side already showing bubbles, passenger is fine so far. Please let me know what procedure to get these replaced, I will wait for your response patiently Darrell.

Unless of course u have aftermarket ballasts and bulbs already... Yeap you're right. But for those like me that already have or plan to get their own ballasts and bulbs, the stripped version is the wiser choice

MY2012 is sharper & better color in my opinion. Just ask Vroomin350. Or go to your stealership and compare i promise it's a noticeable difference

ohh got it, yea CCJ22 is correct, the LED color is slightly bluer/whiter... the only thing I dont like is the cutoff, my 2006-08 headlights were much better.

jay: saw your retrofit thread, dude your nuts!! so sick

You'd probably get better results email him or calling him directly.

Allow me to address the concern for the bubbling/cracking issue. Lexus recently released a TSiB (Technical Support information Bulletin, L-SB-0005-12). This describes some vehicles may exhibit a paint bubbling/wrinkling concern on top of the LED strip panel on one or both headlamps. A newly designed headlight was made to address this concern - this is where the 'eyelashes' come into play. Apparently the lens on the front of the lights acted like a magnifying glass thus extreme temperatures to develop on the surface of the lamp housing. The newer designed lights (with the eyelashes) deflect the light across a larger surface area of the lamp housing.

Any lamp meeting the conditions described above are to be replaced - both lamps. If the your lamps however do not show any visible signs for these conditions you are not eligible for replacement.

The TSiB is not a recall nor a campaign. The TSiB is simply a communication memo from Lexus directed at Lexus personnel on what actions to take in the event of a similarly stated concern. Only a few of you may experience this condition - we suspect hardly any.

Should anyone meet such requirement please contact us by email here and we'll start the warranty process and get a set of new lights to you. We'll ship a new set of lights and the old (defective) lights will be shipped back (within 30 days). Once we receive the lights, we'll forward them onto the Lexus Engineers.

Darrel

^ So safe to assume that means this deal is for the MY2011 (and not MY2012) LED strip headlights, right?

No Brian - it's never safe to assume anything. On the product page of our site we offer a key picture detailing the latest headlamp style.

And should it help, its not a 2011MY versus 2012MY light but rather a typical and normal update. The lights simply updated to a newer light design just as many other parts do (and frequently at that). There will numerous 2012MY models with the older headlights. Only the latest production vehicles will have the updated lights.

Darrel:

Thank you for the prompt response. Will be sending you an email later today with attached pictures of the headlights. I will be looking forward to working with you in anyway to get these replaced.

Thanks,

@ Brian. I believe they are the newer headlights as mine do not have this

Well hey Josh! If you send us your email, that means we don't have to respond right!?
