i took my cat out and i pass smog with it twice that is a almost 5 year old gs i drive... this is a brand new is i doubt youll be smoging anytime soon plus you prob.. pass smog imo.

If it helps...when you buy a new car in Texas, you don't have to do your 1st smog test until 2 years later.

We take smog test now??? Didn't have to do that when I got my car inspected last year...is this new?

Whoops, ok lemme rephrase it...In the state of Texas, when you buy a new car, it should've past inspection already (1st smog test). You don't have to do the next smog test (inspection) until 2 years later. Am I wrong about the smog test? Perhaps, I'm thinking about just the inspection that's required. I could've sworn I had a smog test after the 2nd year on my old 03.5' BMW M3. I'll ask my friend later who's a mechanic at a local dealership.

It's ok, On my 2002 IS 300, I took out all the Cats, I had a Header, Y-pipe, B-Pipe and Exhaust and No Cats, I went for inspection, guy drove it around check to see if the lights and wipers worked and I was out the door So I was wondering if maybe something change or not.
