I don't think I have stated anywhere on the thread stating that an increase of air flow as the charge pipe is located after the intake filter and piping. You won't get a gain of air flow unless u replace the filter or the whole intake system. I'm stating it will increase the smoothness of air flowing into the engine in which results in an improvement on throttle response and decrease of turbo lag.

Thank you for the clarification. I assume that the internal coating or internal designs aids in the less turbulence.

That's right. Making it aluminum also make it worries free from wear and tear on daily usage as most of our BMW customers got cracked charge pipes from normal usage with no engine mods whatsoever. Lexus might have better build quality on their parts but you never know as once the part is failed you should not be driving the car anymore. Towing the car to the closest dealership might cost about the same as the part itself.
