The local shop I'm using is cutting us a pretty good deal to be the preferred shop for our area. I would call around and ask for a quote at a few different shops. I talked to some shops that charged 200% more than others for the same work. You'll have to be specific about what you want done, because using epoxy vs spot welding, and not needing to paint the panel will reduce labor expense. We're working on the cost of the roof and want it to be reasonable because we know the installation is an added expense.
Also, you can reduce a ton of cost if you drop your own headliner and unbolt the sunroof and components ahead of time. That's an easy 4 hours at $100/hr of labor.

Please contact me when you have specific cost and timeline information. I want to lose some weight up high.

If you could create a process with instructions then perhaps then perhaps we get our local mechanic to install it. I'm still very interested but I'll have a really hard time saving up for the price as well as a hotel cost for a week's stay and a rental car for a week because you know I'm going to be bored if I just stay at a hotel for a week lol.

Any updates Zax. I really like the idea of making the roof purchasable and then creating a process so a local body shop can do it. I'd make a trip to your shop myself but I'd have to use up a lot of vacation time and I'd have to rent a place to stay as well as occupying myself for the time being lol.

Ok guys, we are very close to production being able to start up on the no sunroof version of this roof. PM me and I'll give you introductory pricing and you can decide if you're interested. I would recommend contacting your local body shops to determine installation costs for a full reskin of your roof and factoring that into your budget.

Ok folks, we are going to open up a group buy shortly for the roof for all 2nd Gen owners. Please refer to that thread for additional information in this forum or the 2nd Gen IS forum.
