Yes, the switch setup on the OEM shifters is different and interesting for sure. I can see how replicating that rather than re-engineering the switches could be a challenge.

Those of you wanting huge paddles, keep in mind that some cars have large paddles because they don't rotate with the steering wheel. Ferrari even put asymmetric paddles on a couple of their cars to keep them as unobtrusive as possible, while making it easier to upshift during corner exit.
