Speed Freaks USA: Project Mu Type NS

After a very long wait we are excited to announce that Speed Freaks USA has procured a batch of Project Mu Type NS for the Lexus RC F and GS F calipers. Enthusiasts who hate dust and noise with a passion but don’t want to run the usual lifeless ceramics to get rid of it, rejoice.

Most of you are probably familiar with Project Mu and the Type NS / NS400 compound as well as it’s wild popularity as a street pad on these types of cars, especially if you are coming from the IS-F world. If not then please allow me to briefly explain; Project Mu is a top tier Brake manufacturer from Japan. They compete in literally all the highest levels of motorsport (WRC, NASCAR, Australian V8 Supercars, WEC, IMSA, etc.) and know a thing or two about compounding for specific applications. The Type NS is a premium street compound designed specifically for high-end luxury performance cars. In short they are an ultra-low dusting and silently operating pad that doesn’t sacrifice the performance levels to get there.

If you want to read some real world feedback check out the IS-F section and search “NS400”. It’s the same compound but manufactured in Thailand for export markets like the US and Canada whereas Type NS is manufactured entirely at their main facility in Japan for all markets.

Fitment was another key concern we had to address. Some of you may remember the issues we had with another brand due to the complexity of the wear sensor slot and so we made sure a perfect match of the OE backplate design could be achieved and replicated by Project Mu. We let a few production spec samples go out into circulation for feedback and validation and I am happy to report that there are zero fitment issues with the Type NS with the RC F / GS F calipers.

To kick off this first large batch of Project Mu Type NS pads in these pad shapes we will be having a special sale with an extra discount applied to the first ten sets of Type NS pads. (See link below)

I just installed these last week. No fitment issues during install and so far significantly less brake dust than stock pads. Was running ProjectMu pads on my ISF for years so was excited to see that these were available for my new GSF. Thanks guys...
