All!
During the last mega-meet in Baltimore last month, many expressed an interest in organizing another meet at a racetrack. We are proposing to organize a mega-meeting at the New Jersey Motorsports Park on September 12 or 13th. (final date TBD).
RR Racing IS-F at the last NJMP track testing session on July 21.
There will be an opportunity for members to drive on the track! We are also proposing an exciting agenda for the meeting including:
Track driving with an instructor (or, if qualified, on your own)
Lunch included
Plenty of time to socialize and meet other club members and share car experiences
Technical product discussions(the benefits and operations of an Air Oil Separator, RR Racing USRS installation, race suspension basics, brake pad selection, benefits of 2 piece rotors, RR Racing brake systems, etc.)
RR Racing product demonstrations
RR Racing product drawings
Special EVENT ONLY discounts on our products
Other -- please let us know what you would like to do!
This agenda is still tentative and will largely depend on the number of members interested to participate and number of members interested to drive on the track.
Track event will be held in cooperation with Hooked on Driving club.
There will be cost to attend this meeting. The cost will range from $250 to $300 for those interested in driving on the track. For those who are just interested in attending the events and watch others drive, the cost will be about $20 for entrance and lunch. Helmets will be available for rental for $25 fee. Please note that RR Racing will sponsor some of the cost including prizes that we will raffle.
We need to know the number of members interested in participating, how many are interested in driving, your driving level, and other activities you would be interested in. Please respond to this post or send us a PM.
Thank you!

I would totally be interested if it was on September 13, although I have a wedding to attend the day before.
I would love to be able to drive my car on a track (would be first time). are the dates final? any other weekends being considered?
Quick update. Most likely the event will be on 9/12. We are trying to determine whether the Lexus and GT86 groups are large enough to split into two days, but most likely we will just do an event on the same day.
Also, we may offer "Taste of the Track" registration at a lower cost. This will limit you to one track drive session with an instructor.
Stay tuned for the final update of the original post in this thread for the final registration details.

I live in Philly and am very interested. I'm not 100% sure I'm free on the 12th, but am working on it. I have a couple questions:
I know when I used to do track days on my bike, a stock street bike was fine, but I did need to do a bit of prep - taping headlights, removing side mirrors, etc. Aside from renting a helmet, is there anything we need to do to take our cars on the track? I'm assuming they have some sort of safety pre-inspection to check your breaks, fluids, tires, etc.
Do I need to bring my IS350, or could I bring my S2000 instead? The IS350 is a great sports sedan, but I think I'd have a lot more fun in my S2000.
What about insurance? When I did track days on the bike, I know that I had the option to purchase additional insurance b/c my regular insurance probably didn't cover track days. As my bike was only worth $5k, I didn't bother. But as cars are much more significant financial investments, I'd be much more interested in purchasing some sort of supplemental track day insurance.
Please note updated registration information on the IS-F thread. Hot on Driving was able to allocate few more instructors, so we are extending registration until they fill up! However, please register as soon as possible -- they still have limited number of instructors.
Thank you!
Simon
