Your Opinion on Repair estimate???
Well, recently my friend took her 2002 LS430UL to the Lexus dealership in Los Angeles (OC area) for an estimate for repairs.
Here is what she was quoted:
New Starter: $1,744
Sub woofer (replace 1 sub-woofer on Rear Shelf): $892
Rear Brakes: $450
Replace 2 Caster Bushing in front suspension (see photo): $883 (for both)
Timing and Belt Drives: $1128
GUYS, I told her to wait until I hear from my CL buddies.
What are you guys paying for this repair? and can you recommend another independant repair shop in OC?

dang that seems way to expensive to me... front busings are like $10 each they are pain to change u obviously need a press to get them in and out but damn that seems like a lot of $
rear brakes... is it pads only?? are the oem pads?? i mean the most i can see someone to replace rear brake pads only is like $200
i think you can find a great after market sub and install it yourself? how hard is it to remove you back sheld and just pop a sub in? cant be that hard
duno what starters cost for that car but seems $ and i know on my acura timing belts were expensive to install because of the engine lay out but i found a place to install my timing belt for the $700

Buy the parts from one of the sponsors here and take it to an independent shop. I go to this shop here in El Monte and they only charge me $40 to swap out the brakes for front or rear. Just got to bring your own parts
