350Z car chase -Fernando Limas
On Thursday we had finished a run to South Coast Plaza just after the end of peak going home traffic ~630'ish. I was getting on the S 405 FWY and noticed a bunch of red-blue-white flashing lights approaching. As the light changes, some driver passes on the right side shoulder in a silver 350Z with Cerritos paper plates. He's pulling away and I begin to merge in normally. Looking back, the pretty light show is also on the right shoulder coming through.
This is a double lane on ramp so the driver in left lane pulls right and I'm cut off from making a move so now I'm in the merge divider trying to avoid hitting him. Costa Mesa PD slows and I make it to the right shoulder. He stomps the gas pedal of his Charger and off he goes. Next moment, CHP in the car pool lane of 405 screams by and 2 more cars with red-blue lights are weaving through traffic. I comment to wife probably chasing the guy in the 350 since he's driving like a maniac.
Looking at the news, it would appear it was this guy. Crazy and lucky it didn't go down wrong at that moment.
