Default Getting thru to CA EDD

Does anyone know how to get a damn live person at the EDD office?!

I've been trying for 3 weeks now and its impossible. I've tried calling at different times, and even spent a whole day calling. I've tried calling right when it opens, on "non-peak" days such as wed/thurs as they claim, etc with no luck. Same thing everytime, it says transferring to a rep and then says the infamous "due to the number of callers ahead of you...your call cannot be completed" and a cold hang up

Anyone know a way to get through? It's been 16 days since i filed and i haven't gotten anyy claim materials. I emailed them even with no luck.

do you know another language other than english / spanish?

someone i know had the same problem like you described. english line is complete garbage. hard to call, short answers, etc... then called another language (chinese) and bam, no wait time, super super nice rep, and answered everything in great details and very helpful

I do, but its not one of the languages the EDD uses.

The other day i was thinking I may have to ask one of my Vietnamese homies to help me out and see if that works, but i'm currently out of the area.

May be my only option if i can't get thru to anyone before i get back

Damn this mess is crazy!! I'm glad i have a good cushion saved, or i'd be screwed!

For those of you that applied online...did you have to enter the amounts for your "quarterly" earnings online or do you do that once you receive materials? JW cuz i did have to put my income for the last 18 months on the online form, but had no where to put the quarterly amounts which it says are required to fill out the online application

That's the first site i tried, nothing there works.

If you call the number they just transfer you to the same number you would be dialing from home anyways.

Not too long ago, i went through the same thing. I called a few times, but i got the same response you did. So i decided to send claim online. Once i sent the claim, i received a letter stating when and what time they will call the number you have provided. That was the only way i was able to talk to a representative.

I don't work for EDD but go into an office were EDD is at. They have a weird way of getting a rep within 5 min. I will ask tomorrow or the day after to see what they do.
