Discount Tire/America's Tire will price match most online prices. If you find a good price online take a print out there and they will usually take care of it. Dunno how they are with lowered cars and stuff though, since i've never had them change tires on a lowered car before and there's so many different locations as well.

I hear good things about 714 tires and Tire Central tho! They've both been recommend on these forums in the past quite a few times

If you're in Pasadena, these guys are well qualified to do the job at a reasonable cost. No machine can replace an incompetent tech.

hey thanks for the all recs guys, i appreciate it.

i ended up going to 714 tires in westminster. 225/40/18 and 255/40/18 Hankook V12 Ventus Evo's for $648 mounted and balanced. guys were nice and they were quick, and it was a great price, but when i got home i noticed they scuffed up 2 of my rims. so i'm pretty upset about that.

are rim scuffs pretty common when it comes to mounting new tires?

I would give them a call and complain about that. Most tire shops should be able to mount wheels without any damage.

Yea, I was pretty disappointed. From the reviews I found on Yelp, and the type of shop it was, it seemed like these were definitely "car guys" who would be meticulous in terms of rim care. I mean, for the price, I would have been happy just buying the tires from them and taking them to the dealership to get mounted.

Ya, like other said, don't raise hell but do let them know. Usually, a shop's name is just a name. What matters the most is the tech that does the work.

For what it's worth, I emailed them, but they never bothered to get back to me:

Hi,
I brought my car (09 Lexus IS 250) in last week to have a set of Hankook Ventus V12 mounted. Just wanted to let you know I was very happy with the price you guys quoted me, and the staff was friendly and efficient (David was especially helpful in getting me the necessary paperwork for the Hankook rebate -- thank you). But, when I got home, I noticed that 2 of my rims had been damaged in the mounting process. I purposely checked the condition of my rims prior to bringing my car in, because I've heard horror stories about people's rims getting damaged during the mounting process (not at your facility, just in general), so I am sure that the damage was not caused elsewhere. I'm an active member on ClubLexus and 714 Tires was recommended to me, so to be honest I expected a bit more care with my rims, or at the very least a heads up on what happened before I left.

I doubt you guys will offer any remedy for my rims, but at the very least I wanted to let you guys know my experience. Unfortunately, I don't think I would recommend your services to others in the future. If you would like to talk about this any further, please feel free to give me a call.
