i haven't brought my car to longo lexus before, and i haven't hit the 10k mark yet, but from the horror stories i've heard about them and my personal experience (when i was buying my car) i will not take my business there, whether to buy a lexus or to take mine there for service. as a matter of fact, longo is actually the closest dealer to me, but i'd rather go elsewhere to get my car serviced. just my $0.02...

I've read in that Longo Lexus' service has gone downhill in recent history. I read it here on CL. People seem to recommend Westminster, Newport, or Glendale. Try searching on "Longo."

Disclaimer: I do not personal experiences with Longo.

edit: Found the Longo thread:

Can you walk in and they could do oil changes in Longo, or do you have to make an appointment like weeks ahead?

appts are needed if you need loaner cars. the dealer that you bought ur car and bring in for service need not be the same (though you prob go back to the same dealer if you gave you some extra privilleges).

absolutely NOT the case. i bought my sc430 from longo and i hardly go there for service. i do them at another dealership and i always get loaners. there are NO rules saying that you have to service the car at the dealership where you bought it.

there are no rules saying that you have to service the car at the dealership where you bought it from, but dealers will give you some extra incentives to take your car back to where you bought it from (ie coupons, discounts, etc.). from my experience i got a $100 discount for my next 5k service (@ the dealership where i bought my 2is from and where i took it for my first 5k service) just because i had to wait a little bit longer for them to bring my car around.

BTW IMHO asking and getting a loaner is NOT extra (at least for lexus it shouldn't be).

Agree with Henry, definitely not the case.

Trust me, Glendale always happens to have a loaner car; guaranteed to have a loaner car if you make an appointment, even if it is on the day before. Make an appointment over the internet if time is tight.
