Adding color to rims

hey guys,

i searched for threads regarding paint shops however i was wondering if you guys know great shops to add some color to my rims. im still debating on painting or powdercoating but leaning more towards painting because i want a glossy finish. also just curious is there any good chroming shops on oahu (if i opt to chrome it)??

thanks in advance

Here are some shops, I'm not saying all of them are "great", as I don't have experience with all of them. I would continue asking around and check Yelp ratings, etc.
And you can get a glossy finish with powdercoating, plus more durable than paint I would imagine.

Painting- any shop that will do it, some that come to mind are Titanium(Pearl City industrial), Tech One(Kalihi), JL Autobody(Kalihi), J&J Autoworks(Mapunapuna)
Tech One & JL are top notch and I know are very busy; both are small operations with high volume. You may have to wait 3-6 weeks for your turn, just depends on timing and luck.

Powdercoating- Mekala(Campbell Industrial park), Hi Tech Coatings(Campbell Industrial), Sunset(Pearl City industrial) - I have used both Mekala and Hi Tech for auto parts, etc. (but not wheels) and both are fine. Check their websites for pics of some of their work. I was recently at both Mekala and Hi Tech and saw a handful of wheel sets waiting to get done. Typical turnaround times are 5-10 business days.

Chrome plating - Hawaii Plating(off of Sand Island access rd), Hawaii Chrome Ctr(Kalihi)

good luck on whatever you decide

I would choose JL, he does an awesome job. But he is very busy but you'll be very happy with the outcome.

Well thanks for the info guys!! since i dont wanna just keep adding threads i have another quick question semi-related to this subject:

I bought calipers and rotors, but the calipers i got are red (its used) in my opinion the red will just add be too much color by my rims as i have blue and black rims. and a black car (now) So i wanted to paint the calipers a custom color (so no G2 caliper paint lol) are there any shops in hawaii that does a good job at painting calipers?? and around how long would it take to paint the calipers. debating if i should swap it out for wekfest in 2015

i will upload a pic of the rims soon.....

Update- JL Autobody is closed. Not sure if he's doing things on the side, you would need to contact him thru FB or IG

You can add GX Auto (Kalihi) to the list. Also I know they paint calipers. Best to stop by, bring your caliper and talk to Mike, owner. PM me if any questions

thanks bro i'll look into it alittle more. i decided not to rush having it painted for wekfest 2015
