How much did your tint cost?
Hi,
I was looking to tint my 3gs and I think I got a high quote. How much you all paid for tint and what type of tint was used? Also where did you go to get it tinted? I got a $400 quote for ceramic tint on all windows and that legal film on windshield.
Thanks

I paid around $400 for Formula One Ceramic tint on my previous GS430 a couple years ago. Seems to around the going rate for ceramic tint. Some cheaper some more expensive, but I had a lifetime warranty so I didn't care about saving the $50 or so at another shop.
PS. Mine didn't even include the full front windshield tint, so $400 for all 6 windows is pretty decent IMHO. Especially if that is from T&T.

thanks. Do you know how much that paint protective film should run? I got quoted $800 that should cover the front bumper, part of the hood, part of the fender, and the mirrors.

Just had them do my SC430 today. VERY reasonable prices. They've been my go to tint shop for a long time. They've done my BMW's, Mercedes, Porsche, etc. Always happy with the work and price.
I'd suggest doing a bit of homework on tints. Ceramic allows a nearly clear tint to be used and still blocks much of the UV and IR coming through. But when you start using actual tint, I'm not sure if there's much of a difference between ceramic and regular tint. I could be wrong, though.

What's your goal here? To reduce heat and protect the interior of your car or just too look "cool"?
If a cop pulls you over the fine per window is crazy expensive and if you want to avoid the fines you have to go to court and the hassle of going to court and removing your illegal tint.
Maybe I'm an old fut but that doesn't sound like it's worth it to me to run illegal tint.

Trying to keep the heat down and protect the interior. legal tint doesn't block as much heat as I want. The darker tint definitely keeps the inside much cooler and looks much better on a black car.

I hear you on keeping things cooler but still not sure if the ramifications are worth it.
