handicapped parking

I have a question, not sure if anyone knows. I have a handicapped parking pass and I was told I can park in metered stalls without filling the meter and not get ticketed. Is this true or a lie?

Thanks in advance.

Red is considered temporary hence one year, Blue is permanent and good for four years. Regardless of color its true that you don't have to pay a C&C metered parking for 2 1/2 hours, this is true of parking areas that use private vendors to operate the parking areas. Most people with a handicap placard hang them 24/7 from their mirrors, however it is against the law and if stopped can be fined up to $275.00. Be thankful you don't qualify for the Blue, then you would have serious issues

yeah im very glad its only red one and doesn't look like i will need a blue one. i already feel like a dooshbag using it sometimes since im off my crutches now, even tho i have a nasty limp.

You have one because of a physical condition that qualifies you to have a permit. Some if not most all conditions are not visible to the naked eye, i.e.; COPD, Heart conditions class III and IV, etc. You have it so use it, the biggest problem you will find is the people without a placard who park in the handicap stall with the sign staring them in the face "handicap parking". The fine for that is $500.00, very expensive for just "running in and out". Hope you recover from your "handicap" and may you never need to have one in the future.
