err... i havent grown up... had one major life n death xp back when i was 17-19ish:
I was out body surfing waimea shorebreak one WINTER day, was a solid 10-13f (old style of measurement so 20-26foot face) and i was the only local boy out there and i was owning it, spinners/reverse spinners/in barrels that can fit a bus/total ownage... AND THEN... it picked up... 20footers (40f face) started rolling in, and you guys know waimea right? 4 wave sets. SO... BOOM one breaks infront of me, im in the washing machine and then 'bump' my back hits the sand... im being held to the bottom of waimea by the force of the waves, finally it lets off so i start scratching my way up, get to the top, exhale and BOOM im back at the bottom being held there... start scratching back up but this time i see it going dark around the edges, tunnel vision but this time i go towards the lite , make up and inhale and BOOM, right back at the bottom... by the time the set stopped i noticed i was out in the middle of the bay... moments like that change you, all the little stuff isnt so important anymore... mo betta be happy go lucky and enjoy life than worry about stuff that really doesnt matter. Trust me theres alot of stuff that 'really doesnt matter'.
*edit*
ok rims/windows done, time to watch UFC 83 Serra vs St. Pierre

Wow!!! Speaking of a life death experience.........I had one where my idiot friend tried to drift a tuner up in Aiea Heights, but over steers and we hop over a curb and was looking down the mountain. Lucky the car was still on ground and he was able to reverse the car.

Ture. Not as serious as yours. Shouldn't have compared it to yours Its the closest thing for me. I think thats why I never really took the time to surf as much. Its so amazing that almost everything in this world thats fun is usually dangerous or hazardous to us.

hmm... fun non-dangerous stuff... of course 'fun' is subjective... stamp collecting, but like if you have alot of stamps in a book and you put it on a high shelf to keep it away from other ppl messing it up, it could fall back down and hit you on the head...
