How is their pricing? sounds a little pricey due to them having a certified lexus shop

You get what you pay for Give them a call and find out. No harm in asking

Ask for Ken Boyce when you call.

they are priced really high ... there are comparable work at reasonable rates .... you may want to use Boyce when it is accident/insurance work .... for minor body work there are more cost effective options

A&L autobody in Palatine. They did a color swap on my S2000 and did GREAT work. They also build a lot of high-end BMWs, Audis, and such.

When your dealing with any kind of rust repair, unless you cut out the rusted spot and weld a patch panel in- it is probably going to creep back sooner rather than later.

Also when comparing costs for small jobs.. quality shops are most likely using far superior paints than smaller shops or guys doing side work. Automotive paints can range from 150 to 350 per gallon! then additional costs for toner/hardner/reducer/ clear coat etc...

The are some very inexpensive paints out there~ Will they look the same when finished? Probably. Will they look the same in a year? ??

For any repair work, that doesn't include rust, if you planning on keeping the car, make sure the shop offers a lifetime warranty.

I posted this thread on the forum a while ago to try and help educate others in what to look for in trying to find a collision repair shop:

Marcia,

What brand of paint products do you guys use? Also, are your paints waterborne or solvent based?

Thanks!

Collinsion Center in Schaumburg. My car run it's bumper into some ice and I'm super picky. Took it there, (Lexus certified and recommended) and they blended this bumper with the rest of the car and I'm VERY impressed. Like I said, I'm picky and brought the car in daylight to see if the silver matched up. I couldn't find anything wrong.
