I have to take my car for the emission test now here is the question I have a Megan Racing header with o2 bungs to prevent me from having check engine light problems do ya think I'll make it???

 

you'll make it. I have no cat, running test pipe with 02 sim. I ran emissions and I cleared without issue.

 

worst case is if you do fail they tell you what the reason is and you can fix it if need be. I havent had to do this in years but I will eventually with the GS and I forgot about this. How old does the car have to be for you to get the random lottery for this? Isnt it a minimum of 4 years or something like that??

drive it for a week mike. before the emission test. check engine light usually comes on in a week during the drive cycle. but i really doubt it. Glad you got the headers on.

I am pretty sure all they check for is a CEL... you'll be fine.

 

I've had my headers on for about a month and no cel since they were installed ,I thought that since I have no cats that I might get busted at test time

 

They're just going to check for a CEL. On OBD2 cars they don't check anything else besides that.

 

95 and older doesn't have emission test but i'm not 100% sure.

 

Back then when my very first car 1995 oldsmobile Delta, I had emissions.. but I think it changed now??
I heard the same as well.

 

yeah they only plug in and check for trouble codes. no CEL then you are fine. they dont plug that thing that goes in the exhaust anymore

I think my one of my cat is clogged...and to replace that part is some insanely high price from Lexus and I've been toying some ideas. So if I go with headers and O2 simulator it'll still make emissions??
