DirectQL did you go? I was looking for you in between my races (raced 7 times last night). We had a short break in between races and I asked the CIR staff if anyone had reported in at the front desk.

We had a few new people in our group, they did very well considering it was their first time out and there was a lot of traffic on the tracks last night.

Going tonight for the first time! It is for the unveiling of the 2009 Porsche 911. Should be fun. Plus free food and racing

a select few of the top drivers from Chicago Indoor Racing were invited to try out the facilities at Melrose Park Grand Prix (MPGP) before they opened to the general public.

The surface is more slippery at MPGP and the opinions were that, unfortunately, it took away from the whole race experience.

Additionally, the karts do not run on gasoline like they do at CIR. They run on propane. Yes, each kart has a 20 pound propane tank strapped on the side of it and this was cause for concern among many of us 'kart regulars'.

In my opinion - that facility is sub par to either CIR facilities located in Buffalo Grove or Addison, IL.
