Dropped the GS at McGrath (just because I feel like posting)
So I just dropped the GS off at McGrath right now getting a few warranty things done:
- Condensation in the passenger headlight (its not that bad but I had the driver side replaced so you can tell the difference between the two)
-Hood latch sticking
I felt kind of bad because I gave Sherry (really nice service advisor btw) a list of instructions while they have my car. I apologized for being super ****..Just wondering if you guys do the same thing
Here were my instructions:
1) NO CAR WASH
2) Don't throw away my PIAA Super White Led's
3) Keep my original HID bulb (they have a bluer hue over time so they wouldn't match)
4) Back the car into parking spots
5) Be careful on the lifts
6) NO CAR WASH
They gave me an IS250 for a loaner...its a silver metallic and I must say I am super impressed with the car! It's not the quickest but it handles like its on rails and the brakes are awesome! The clear bra on it looks awful! I don't know if they screwed it up but you can totally tell the difference between the protected and unprotected surface....I know they prevent chips but after looking at this one there is no way I would put one on my car. Well thats it...I just felt like typing

No they replace the entire headlight... After I had the drivers side done the service advisor told me that the part cost $1000. I all reality the only thing I really needed was the lens, but I think its easier for them just to replace the whole thing. I've learned that this is actually a really difficult part to get under warranty. I guess Lexus considers it a warranty issue when there is a puddle of water sitting at the bottom of the headlight I think any condensation on the inside of the headlight should be considered a warranty issue! I mean it dries up eventually, but it leaves this haze on the inside of the headlight. Thankfully the service advisor at McGrath was prety helpful and told me he would do his best to get me a new headlight. I told him I understood that there wasn't a puddle at the bottom of the headlight, but the drivers side looked brand new and the passenger didn't match.

I couldn't agree more...when I dropped off the car there were a lot of people in line for loaners...Sherry told me to hold on a sec, went and grabbed a key, and told me that she didn't want me to wait in line
oh and when i picked up the car they didn't keep my original hid bulb. I told Paul in service the next morning and told him not to worry if he couldn't get it(I think it takes about 100 hours for the color switch to occur...kind of annoying). Anyways he felt really bad and tracked down the mechanic (who went on vacation) to find it! Can you imagine this guy getting a call on vacation, "Ah, yeah...you know that GS you worked on...where is the original HID bulb?" I'm going in tommorow to get it switched out. They really seem to go the extra mile
