Dear lord I thought it was bad here, looks like I was badly wrong. I could not own/drive what I do here if I lived there, I would have constant fear of some idiot like that hitting me.
Although i wouldn't say I see it every day, what Steve posted happens quite often on the D.C. Beltway and nearby I-95/66/270. The pace of life in this area is so rapid that there are lots of impatient and aggressive drivers. Some of the worst I've seen (and I've mentioned this before in other threads) are in Mustang V8s and BMW 3-Series.
....and, BTW, if a cop catches you doing that down the shoulder, there is a stiff fine for it.

As there should be. Positional violations are so much more dangerous that anything else, it's one thing going faster than you are supposed to but being in a place people are not monitoring/you shouldn't be is how crashes happen
A couple of years ago, I got sideswiped by a Hyundai Tiburon on my way home from work. The guy ran, but I caught everything on my dashcam. I don't have the video available right now - I had it uploaded to YouTube for my insurance adjuster, but I've since deleted it. I think the original is still on my other laptop, but I'd have to look for it. There's more to the story, but the video shows it better than a block of text would.
Yeah, sadly that type of thing isnt that unusual...
Today coming down 270, I was doing 82 in a 55 and had to move right for a Mini Cooper that wanted to go faster. 27 over not quite enough lol
Wow and I thought I had it bad when I wanted to be in the right lane (3-4 lanes one way) doing 65 and I'm passed, cut off (and sometimes even flipped off.. can you imagine?), as if I'm driving so slow that I'm ruining everyone's plans.
Lol you got smoked by a Mini. That's actually kinda funny. I get the context but still.
Are the cops bad about getting speeders there or do they not really care just because they have more important stuff to do? In LA they didn't care. 3-4 cars would turn left on a red light, that's just how it is out there and you'd never get stopped for it. The lights there mostly don't have arrows so that's how it runs. Minimum 3 cars turn left out there after light changes to red.

I'm sure with drugs, shootings, armed robberies, etc the cops don't care a whole lot about most speeders in the big cities.

Yep. I mean sure someone going 100mph down Sunset in LA will get pulled over but the cops just have more to do than deal with petty traffic crap.
Here in Knox they just hide in all the tony parts of town waiting for fancy cars speeding to nab.
BTW though that stuff happens in smaller cities too. We were bad during the pain pill epidemic bc we have 40 and 75 that runs through town, both MAJOR interstates east and west and north and south. I75 was known as Oxycontin express.
