As long as they didn't screw up my car ever I'd be fine with mandatory full serve as well.
This is exactly why I have a problem with mandatory full service. I was traveling through NJ and apparently, first of all, the fueling operation requires a minimum of two people. So these two jackasses are there shooting the breeze and I though nothing of it until I heard a distinct bang. One of the certifiably stupid guys there ran the fuel nozzle into the quarter panel underneath the fuel door and left me with a nice ding to always remember them by. On the way back, I planned my fuel stops to not stop in NJ.
I wouldn't blame the driver. Isn't the curb supposed to be painted red? Speaking of this, I read somewhere they painted the curb after the person parked. Then gave her a ticket. Not sure how that case ended.

The curb is not always painted in front of a hydrant. Some municipalities do it, but not because of any requirement.

t.
Curbs are not painted here. This is 100% on the driver.

It's OK. Like Dunkin'. (which I like every once in a while) Tim Hortons changed their brewing and dispensing. They got their consistency of their coffee down 100%. Other than that, I don't care for any other product at the store.

Something similar to that happened to me ~25 years ago. I parked on the street as I always did and went to class. When I came back, I found a parking ticket on my windshield. Looked up, and there was a "No parking between XX hours" (think the window relevant to me was 7-9am) sign right next to my front fender. Looked more closely, and there was still protective film on it. Looked down to see a very neat pile of loose dirt around the post. ~25' further up the street, was another brand-new sign. ~25' after that was a dude digging a hole with a sign lying on the ground next to him.
I wrote a letter and got the ticket dismissed. I do wonder if the judge and clerk got a chuckle out of it.

I got a ticket a few months back in Banff, Canada. Apparently the parking spot I was in was a handicap spot. The officer told me it was painted on the ground, but seeing as the ground had several inches of snow on it, it was completely covered. The officer said he could do nothing about the ticket or lack of visible signage, and gave me a ticket anyway. I unsuccessfully contested it. The response back from the city was that I should be more understanding of how hard it is for them to enforce parking laws in a busy resort town. Classy...

Wasn't there a sign directly in front of you? or to the side if there was a meter?

Doesn't have to be painted red here.
Funny story about that. When I was in High School there were more kids that had cars than there were spaces in the lot (good ol affluent school), so those of us who did not get assigned spaces parked on the street down the street from the school where it was legal. As you can imagine, the people who lived there HATED that, a bunch of HS kids parking cars and hanging out and all right in front of their houses every day. One day, we all parked, and while we were in school they put up permit parking only signs and ticketed all of us. Parked that morning, no signs. Came out after school to new signs and tickets.
Lots of angry rich powerful parents, we not only got the tickets waived, the police chief of Montgomery County issued each of us a written apology lol

I mean, you shouldn't have to be privileged to get an apology in that circumstance. They did that on purpose, with no warning or grace period.

Welcome to Montgomery County. Chevy Chase and Tacoma, in particular, have a reputation for that kind of snobbiness.
