Polestar Discussion Thread
At this point, Polestar should no longer be treated as a Volvo spinoff, which it originally was, but another questionable startup company like Fisker.
To be fair it is already in showrooms in the US (I even took photos a few pages back), but it's not on roads yet because they're shifting production to South Korea due to the tariffs on Chinese-made models.
You should at least be able to test drive one, last update I had for being able to test drive is November
I think the brand should have stayed a subdivision of Volvo. Between all the weird mismanagement and bugs and delayed launches and replaced CEO's, Polestar is now becoming more and more like Fisker or Lordstown which is an absurd position to be in for a company run by a large corporation like Geely.
Volvo has a lot of bugs in their new android automotive, and surprise! so does Polestar.
More bad news for Polestar. It may not be able to sell its vehicles in the US, even ones built in the US.

Today brought the Polestar to work to give it some exercise. Nov will probably be my last month with it before I turn in the lease. Went to lunch with a coworker, and I let him drive on the way back. Same coworker who I went with to test drive the Model 3 Performance, same one who just placed an order from my referral. Anyway, he couldn't believe how fast, quiet, and smooth it was. On the freeway we were doing about 50, he put his foot down and next few seconds, we were at 100!
I'm really going to miss this car when it's gone. I'm hoping Polestar survives all the turmoil, gets back on the right path, and has many successes

Just had someone from AutoVIN inspect the Polestar, they are going to send me a final report in 24 to 48 hours. He said most of the stuff looks like normal wear and tear, but it will be up to Polestar Finance to make the final determination. Once I get the final report, I'll take the next step to start the return process
Tomorrows the day I turn in my lease. Received the inspection report, the only thing noted was two small cracks in the windshield, so I'm having Safelite do a windshield repair as Polestar will ding me on the cost of new windshield. I'll be taking the car to the Polestar space in San Jose where they will do a final inspection, and I'll sign all the paperwork to turn in the car.
Talking to the Polestar rep, there is a possible way for me to buy it out at a cheaper price, he told me that I would need to extend my lease and they would buy it out and re-sell it to me at the current market, but as much as I enjoyed this car, there are way to few repair facilities, I don't know if they will continue to update the software, and lastly, I don't know the future of the company itself, so I'll just wait until next year when my wife's Ioniq lease is up and stick with buying either a Model 3 or Y Performance
