Geeze...I'm feeling old. Nobody owned anything of an earlier vintage than my '68 Renault?

You kiddin' Sasha? No snow in Florida, and hardly any in Atlanta even. That's why I love it here! I remember living in Toronto with those FRIGID winters.

Wink Report from Gezzerdom

Greetings Kiddies!
As perhaps the only representative of gezzerdom here – I’ve got a long list of cars owned. I’ll summarize since most aren’t worth a mention. A few good ones, some so-so, but mostly crap until later years when I could afford something better.

They include: 4 Chevy’s, 1 Jeep, 1 Dodge, 1 Plymouth, 2 Thunderbirds, 2 Oldsmobiles, 1 Rambler (I’m so ashamed), 1 Buick, 1 AMC Javelin, 2 Pontiacs, 1 Cadillac, 1 Chrysler, 1 Lincoln, 2 BMW’s, 1 Triumph TR-3, and 1 Lexus.

Ones of note:
’64 Corvair – a really neat, fun little car, bright red, 110hp engine, 4 spd, lots of fun (and only paid $450 for it). Ralph Nader didn’t agree with me.
’55 Triumph TR-3 – a real sports car – didn’t even have roll-up windows – lot of fun, lots of upkeep, lots of cold wind, rain leaks, etc. – but still fun.
’81 Pontiac Gran Prix – easily the worst car I ever owned – a real piece of *****.
’79 BMW 528i – this was before it was cool to drive a beamer – it was fast and handled, but lacked sophistication. I guess it was one of the first real sports sedans.
’83 BMW 528e – the devil created the “e” engine (or maybe it was Hoover or Eureka) but it was otherwise a nice car.
’87 Lincoln VII – that was a pretty good car – fast, luxurious, nice looking – a pretty good car.
And finally, my beloved ’92 SC400 – bought it in ’92 and still drivin’ it – still lovin’ it - I’m approaching retirement and don’t want to spend many k on a new one! Bet I have the baddest ride in the retirement home!

garnet92, seattleSheila,

hey old timers, I would have had a 1977 Oldsmobile coupe with tan vinyl seats, but it blew up before I was of Driving age...dad bought it new back in 1976! First car since migrating over to the US. He still has fond memories of it...but since 1988 (when it died) he/we have never owned an American car. (we had a dodge ram 4x4 ext.cab in 1995, but for only 2 weeks). Oh well the old man is 51 now and happy with his Volvo and Honda.

I still think an old vette stingray is hot old ride!

I'll rescue you here...

1st 1963 Ford Galaxy

2nd 1969 Ford Torino GT (390 with 4 spd)

3rd 1979 Trans AM (new)

4th 1982 Totota P/U 4x4 (new)

5th 1986 Toyota P/U Xtra cab 4x4 (new)

6th 1987 Dodge Conquest turbo (used) anyone remember these?

7th 1994 Toyota SR5 P/U 4x4 (new)

8th 1973 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400 (project car)

9th 1995 Toyota Land Cruiser (2 yrs old)

10th 1999 Acura TL 3.2 (new)

Lucky 11th.... 2001 GS 300 (6 days old)

This doesn't count various cars my wife has owned over the past 20 years.

As for my favorites..... Land Cruiser and Trans AM so far. I expect the GS to take it's place in the top 3 over time.

Long gone! It was a lease and I traded it in on the Acura. I loved that Landcruiser but I was feeling really guilty about the 13 mpg.
