Lexus TX coming
The current gen ES350 and the recently departed GS did have the same engine, the 2GR-FKS.
It was also transversely mounted in the Highlander and longitudinally mounted in the Tacoma. It’s also the same V6 found in the Camry.

It cannot possibly be the same engine. Avalons, being Camry-based, have a sideways (transverse) engine-mount and FWD. GS models are RWD and have a longitudinal (for/aft) engine-mount.
You are probably thinking of the ES350 (also Camry-based), not the GS....the ES shares a lot of components with the Avalon.

The 3.5tt certainly wont go into the GH. It makes sense for the TX and as you all agreed, it can be done. Besides isnlt the TNGA supposed to be modular? Still bugs me that a similar engine is in the lowest model of the Tundra.
Why? Lexus has used the Tundra engines for years. Or has it always bothered you?
GX460 and Sequoia too.
And I will tell you, Lexus owners should celebrate this. It makes parts and repairs cheaper. That 3.5TT being used in Toyota applications is great news for LS and LX owners who have it. Brakes for an LS are $600, for my S560 they are $2,100. This is why...
Land Cruiser and Sequoia as well. Helps keep parts cheaper
100% agreed. On the gs460 the abs module is known to go bad. The part cost 2500. While the gs350 aba module is under 1k.
Yes it bothers me that only the LX and LS uses this engine. It should be adapted for use across the entire Lexus lineup. Its a V6 with 2 turbos strapped to it so no reason it cant be done.
