and remember all, this is about satisfaction, not quality or reliability.
some people love their cars even though they have issues.
The only shocking brand on here I have first hand experience with is Chrysler, and its hard to imagine people being satisfied with a car that is constantly in the shop.
Its all in the questions they ask. You can love lots of things about a problematic vehicle but not be satisfied with it. I love lots of things about the Pacifica, so does my wife but if you ask both of us "are you satisfied with your purchase" the answer is a resounding no.

well you are a sample size of 1.
how though do you explain Chrysler doing so well on this "survey"?
I was leery about buying my Pacifica last year, but if now asked about my satisfaction, I would say it has been highly satisfying (so far) and has exceeded expectations.

Pacificas are my go to for rentals. They are very nice...much nicer than my Odyssey
Not really lol, check out the Pacifica forum I post on and compare it to the model specific forums here...or anywhere else. Also, having a young family I also know many people who have Pacificas and other Minivans...the Pacifica is not a reliable vehicle.

It has to be the questions that are asked and how the responses are weighted. Like I said, if you asked us specific questions you would come away with the idea that we are happy with the product and thats not true. If ANYBODY else sold a comparable minivan we would buy it. Every other van has serious drawbacks relative to the Pacifica.

Just indicates that a lot of consumers may not put quality at the top of their list in terms of importance. I've had 5 Toyotas and 2 Lexus and quality was very high on those cars. Never really loved them like my G35 and my current Tesla and can safely say that quality wasn't as good as the Lexus i've owned. I feel most people don't care about quality as much as general reliability so its not that important to them or its not a metric that drives high satisfaction.

we all know the car forums are not representative of the public. you get a disproportionate number of the loudest people with car problems on them looking to vent or sympathy, or to find answers .

so I think you'e saying the CR questions must be completely bogus.
and again, reliability is very different than satisfaction. if a piece of trim has fallen off one can say it wasn't reliable, but if the minivan does great picking up the grungy kids and all their shat from hockey/socker/gymnastics practice day in and day out with no hassles, then it could by HIGHLY satisfying.
For me personally, quality and reliability go hand in hand with satisfaction. I've owned a lot of "fun cars" that were completely not reliable. I can safely say I would never buy those brands ever again. Except for my Lexus and to somewhat a small extent my 2006 Camry SE, none of my other 5 Toyotas I owned were fun, maybe enjoyable, but not fun and I would buy them over and over again because of their reliability...I am 99 percent sure they are going to start the next morning
