Not trying to be rude 😄, A car might be described as an "appliance" when it is viewed as a practical, functional tool rather than something associated with emotional or driving pleasure. They pioritize practicality over personality or driving enjoyment.
Oh gotcha. I def wouldn't describe the Y Performance that way at all. 0-60 in like 3.5 seconds.. handles great.. the car is a blast to drive. I genuinely love the car. The 0-60 time on a new, regular (non Plaid) S is like 3.1 seconds I believe. As I said, the advantages of the S over the MYP would be ride quality (better suspension) and styling. Those would be my only 2 reasons for getting it over a new (Juniper) MYP. Prior to the MYP I had owned an LS of some sort for the last 15 years of my life, so I would love an EV that can give me some type of ride quality that is somewhere between MYP and an LS. I think the S checks that box and likely sits right in the middle.
Back on the CT - at Firestone yesterday a guy tried to tell me that replacement tires on a CT are $7k for a set of 4. There is absolutely no way that is true. I did a quick Google search and appears it's in the $2k to $2,500 range. No idea what in the world he was talking about with that.
Would they let me take a CT out on my own for a test drive?
The only way to know that is to setup a test drive through tesla.com. You will be assigned a rep that you can text and ask questions. I've test drove the Model X, and both Model 3 Long Range and Performance, and I had them for 30 minutes by myself

Ohhh can I do all this without having to speak to or see another human being? That's fantastic, kudos to Tesla.

I may just trade all three cars in...
LOL. You can do just about everything without ever interacting with someone. Schedule a test drive - through the site. Order the car - through the website. Any service issues - through the app, they come to your house for 90% of it. Order something - through the app, gets charged to your card on file. It's a very unique experience, but everything is integrated and makes it so seamless. I love it.
it’s too bad the window wiper is exposed. I’ve always liked the exterior design That wrap looks great. Cyber Truck is far more interesting than the Hummer IMO

Yeah that's nonsense. AFAIK the OE Goodyears are only available direct from Tesla, but there are a lot of compatible LT285/65R20 tires available from $350-$515 each. One of these is the Wrangler Duratrac RT, which Tesla will sell you a set of with wheelsfor $3k.
You want an S because it's not an appliance 😄, unlike the Y. Just sayin..
Wouldn't it be better to have a new never used "appliance"?

clearly the design is done for two reasons - it's cheaper to make, and because elon musk views the driver as eventually irrelevant, lol.
When you love something too much, everything is positive. Some even kudo the fact that blind spot alert is displayed on the display instead of the mirrors.

Oh yeah, I'm just being positive about how Tesla does stuff because I'm forced to be, huh? Maybe some brainwashing from Elon?
Dude, I could have a BMW, Lexus or Mercedes sitting in my driveway, but I don't. Just keep that in mind as you try to unscramble and contemplate this mystery of why we love Tesla's
