I’ve heard that a lot of insurance carriers are refusing to insure the CT. Not that I care. I’m not buying one of those rolling piles of ****, but can anyone confirm?

There is thousands of them here California, and unless all these people are paying cash, you can't finance (or lease) a car unless it's fully insured. So I would re-check your source. And if other insurance companies won't insure it, there is always Tesla insurance, which is the cheapest when it comes to insuring Tesla's. My Model Y is currently insured through Tesla insurance
Even if you pay cash, the dealer can’t process the DMV paperwork and register it unless you can provide proof of insurance.
Absolutely, forgot to mention that. When I sold my IS350, I took it off my insurance and a month later got a letter from the DMV asking for proof of insurance

Are you sure man? I've read/heard the opposite. They track how/when you drive, score you and adjust premium accordingly. I read in some case where the score is great, they still increase. Most posts I see about insurances, majority of them chose/recommended a non-tesla company. Once in a full moon one would show up and said what you're saying.

You have to "Opt-in" for them to track you
It's about $100 a year cheaper to insure my Model Y through Tesla Insurance over Geico, which insures my other vehicles

I got my invite to build the CT and only the Foundation series is available to order now. I laughed when I saw the price. Yes I badly need another mortgage on my home to get a truck... 🤔
And the CyberBeast Foundation series

Yeah I’m not falling for that again, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. I don’t need to pay $40k more to be the first on my street to own one. I’ll wait a few years and get one for under $100k when the hype does down.

I was tracking safety score when I was trying to get into the FSD beta a few years back and I hated it. I have 3 roundabouts leaving my city and it kept flagging me for tailgating or following too closely. If I waited for an opening that they wanted it would've cost me at least 5 minutes

Which is why I refuse to opt in. Rather pay more than have my driving monitored

reminds me of progressive insurance's surveillance system to allegedly give better rates. you plug a device into the obd port but since it's 'dumb' it dings you for 'excessive' braking, steering, acceleration. you might as well keep the car at home. if someone cuts in front of you and you have to brake, YOU get dinged by progressive. if you have to avoid some debris in the road, YOU get dinged. etc. it's a joke, and after whatever period is was, it said i had qualified for $5 discount or something. i threw it in the trash or sent it back (don't remember) and opted out.
