I saw my first Polestar a few months ago in a Starbucks parking lot here in Los Gatos. I didn't know what it was, but I knew it was new and probably electric. When he pulled outta his parking space, I knew it was electric.
That silent, ultra quick, cat like movement is a dead giveaway. While I am not a fan of its look, I'm sure you will like your new Polestar!

I see a white Lucid Air running around here as well. Wifey likes the style, me not so much. Each to their own, of course.
Los Gatos is gorgeous, I really love that part of the Bay area. A lot of the startup entrepreneurs live around there, you're basically in EV heaven! When I get it in January, I'll let you try it out! You won't be disappointed! They are not very big though, the cabin is about the size of my IS350, just more comfortable

I'm in CA too (OC). How do you get $2800 from the state?

It's likely the sales tax.
In NJ you save $2000 in sales tax.

You apply for the rebate directly with the State: https://cleanvehiclerebate.org/eng/eligible-vehicles

Also you apply to your local utility company, in my case it's PG&E. California give you $2000, and your utility company will give you $800

Both California and the Utility companies send you checks

Sweet! I think I'm in. Will visit Polestar in South Coast this weekend. Was leaning towards Model Y but this might change the plan. Congrats on you Polestar2

It's a win-win. You get $7500 credit towards the purchase, then you can put down a larger down payment and get most of it back from the State. I pay a ton of taxes between income and property taxes, getting something back is definitely sweet!

I thought this was a fun comparison. Performance is pretty close to the LR Model 3

That's awesome! I drove in my co-workers Model 3 with the Performance pack, and it drives amazing, but I like the softer suspension in the PoleStar 2. The seats are also...way better. I don't plan to race or track the PoleStar, so a half second behind the Model 3 is cool with me. Looking forward to getting it in early January, which is the expected delivery date.

BTW, I'm adding additional Solar. the new panels will generate an additional 9,568 KWh a year. They speced it out to generate 190 percent of my current energy usage to future proof it. $137 a month for the new system

I hear there is an over-the-air performance upgrade you can get now that adds 68hp more to get it inline with the Model 3 Long-range. Probably a grand or two so something to consider when you get the car and want a bit more juice. Also, that solar install sounds great...free juice for your car while gas prices are an insane $5 a gallon. I've saved over $6k in gas already

Very excited for your review of the Polestar 2...i think its a great car.

Me too. I'm bummed it is no longer Swedish owned but on the flip side there would likely be no electric Volvo or Polestar otherwise.

I think its Swedish designed still so if you are interested, I say go take a look! There are some really compelling things in the car like Android as the operating system (with App store) and the general higher quality than Tesla products. If there were no Tesla, I'd probably have a Polestar 2.

I'm totally excited for it's arrival. I'm also a little sad that I'm probably going to be selling my IS350. She's given me so much, and all she's asked for in return is an occasional WOT, a weekly wash and Premium fuel. Speaking of fuel, I'm really going to miss those Costco gas lines @bitkahuna
