Hertz renting out Polestar's might actually be the single best thing that's ever happened to them as far as brand exposure goes. At the same time, making most of your brand volume for a rental company doesn't exactly help a new luxury brand gain a "prestige" image.

It's actually not a luxury car, and I don't really care about the prestige. In 3 years my lease will be over and I'll be moving on

Polestar just released P2.0 OTA update, updating to the latest Android R Android Automotive 11. This update also includes in-vehicle functionality improvements, and stability improvements. I was prompted to install the update yesterday evening, I waited until I got home, around 10PM than plugged in my car and started the update

The next morning, the update showed completed successfully

Everything seems to be working, I had to re-pair my phone (delete and re-add the phone) as Bluetooth adds some additional functionality. Infotainment screen is more responsive. Lets see over the next few days if there is any other noticeable improvements

Sure, it would be, but since I do long distance drives maybe 2 or 3 times a year I'm good with the current mileage I get. A trip to SoCal would add about another 40 minutes to the 7 hour drive over taking my Lexus or Sienna, which I'm fine with. If I'm really in a hurry and can't spare the 40 minutes, I'll just take my Lexus or catch a flight, which is only an hour and a half flight

Since installing the P2.0 update, I'm getting 2 percent better battery efficiency over the last two days. Android Automotive 11 is more responsive, and they have opened up more app access in the Google Play store. One of the functions they have tweaked is timers for battery preconditioning, which may be the reason for the better battery usage. You setup the timer schedules of when you leave and the battery is preconditioned for maximum efficiency. The car is getting better and better each software update! I'm looking forward to updates to the smartphone app and the added functionality they are promising. Right now it's just basic stuff like locking and unlocking the doors, charging settings, turning on the climate and setting up preconditioning timers

I installed the ChargePoint App (free charging at ChargePoint for our Ioniq) and the Amazon music app. The apps I mostly use are Google Maps, the radio app (listening to NPR news) and the Range Assistant App as that gives real time info when driving. I would definitely like the ability to install the Electrify America app

This week I've been doing a bit more driving than I normally do, and hadn't charged in about 4 days, so coming home last night I was at 60 percent and decided to hit an Electrify America near my house, but a different one in a city near San Jose, Milpitas where there is a giant mall (Great Mall). It's a pretty big mall spanning a few blocks, so they have a whole area where there is EA and Tesla chargers. This is where you see how far ahead Tesla is from everybody else...EA had 4 super chargers, and to the right the whole area was Tesla chargers. There were 5 or 6 Tesla's charging while there was only me at the EA chargers. I also noticed that the Tesla chargers were very small, you have to look really close to even see them. I can't imagine those are fast chargers, as the EA chargers are giants (size of a gas pump, but slimmer) with two charging cables coming out each side...these are not for two people charging, these are for EV's that have their charging ports in different locations, giving easy access. Anyway, the size of the Tesla chargers, they had to be Level 2, being very compact. I've seen Tesla super chargers and they are about the same size as EA chargers

Yesterday Sunrun completed their solar install, installing panels on all sides of my roof

Based on my usage from the last two years, which factors in running AC in the summer and charging 2 EV's, these panels will cover 199 percent of my energy usage. Now my Polestar can pull 100 percent of its energy directly from the rays of the sun! Efficient, powerful, and green! Oh goodness me, I just want to go out and hug a tree . Phase II will be adding a dedicated 240v and hard wiring in a level 2 charging station that I'm buying from Electrify America, this will reduce charging my Polestar from 8 hours plus to about 4 hours. Also the 240v @ 48 amp is more efficient and will save energy that gets wasted when charging 120v

I just bought mine outright. There was a gigantic incentive at the time too. I break even on the system sometime next year then the next 20 years or longer will be free.
