GX definitely has claws, too. Unstoppable. Has Toyota ever put Full Time 4WD in anything that you could set to "2"? I can't recall anything.

I agree, it almost looks unfinished and kind of embarrassing at this price point.

This might be a dumb question, but roughly how much more $$$ would full-time 4wd add to the price of this vehicle? Definitely seems to be a misstep from Toyota.
I agree, the cargo area is a complete miss. The prior generation Sequoia had a fabulous amount of space in the back, plus the 3rd row was good even for adults. Still like the TRD Pro version, but maybe not enough to actually buy one. |

The outgoing sequoia (and first gen Seq) had 2WD mode, and full time 4WD mode as well
Pretty much. Totally useless for the price and $$$ |

I’m happy to hear that! Did they let you sit inside any of the Tundras?

I thought it never had auto 4WD? You have to run it in 4HI manually.

It does not have auto 4wd like a GM. Think of it like this.....your LX my two 4R full time 4WD system adds a 2WD mode...that is it. But the vehicle can't go from 2WD to full 4WD automatically, it has to be switched by the driver....but once in full time 4WD mode, it can stay in the full time 4WD forever

People complained and companied about the outgoing Sequoia, now the consequences Old Sequoia had more seating options, as you could seat up to 8 Indépendant rear suspension (although I like a solid axle) Hydraulic adaptive variable suspension (just like LX470) Far more rear interior space Better loading Rear roll down window (although I don't like the ones I have) A BIG V8 multi-mode 4WD with 2WD, Full time 4WD, 4LO with a centre differential lock Although the new Sequoia is a nice design. Looks great and has better MPG, it did take a step back in design. |
The rear cargo area is really a result of it being a hybrid. Even with the live axle it would have been packaged better if they didnt have to home the batteries.

If you look at the old live axle GM SUVs they were packaged better, I think Toyota would have been able to at least accomplish that if it werent for the batteries. That keeps them from being able to have the third row collapse into the floor.

The GMs were ok. But they still rode higher. The outgoing Sequoia had it perfectly set up for the rear.
